pdf converter Question And Answer

Which is the best .doc to .pdf freeware converter?

Answers

Try OpenOffice. It's a full featured office suite that has a word processor, spreadsheets, diagrams and slide presentations. It can open files in .doc format and export them to pdf and the open .odt format (as well as a variety of other formats). It is free, so give it a spin.
There are several, but I have used PDF995 (http://www.pdf995.com), pdfcreator(http://www.pdfforge.org), and cutepdf (http://www.cutepdf.com). pdf995 has the advantage of not requiring administrative rights to install. There might be others that don't as well, but that's the first I was able to find. All are small quick and easy. They work by setting up a "printer" that you select when printing a document. Using that printer will save the document as a pdf file (prompting you for options).
You don't have to download a whole office suite just to get a pdf converter. I've used several, but the best I found was PDF995, which uses a "virtual" printer to convert. It's small, fast and easy to use. http://www.pdf995.com/
