So I want to buy a mac...?

I'm considering buying a mac nowadays, but I have my pair of questions: which one and is it really a good idea? -details: I'm going to use my mac for various tasks. Media playback which includes reading pdf's, watching avi's flv's mov's mpeg's etc and music. I'm interested in mild gaming, whatever I can get as long as it's not boring, anything from an emulator or N64 games to some strategy or first person shooter, but i'm not into looking for the latest and best always, just casual... but i do want it to run nice. I'm also gonna use my mac for various working tasks: media creation and office/medical statistics work. So I definitely need word, powerpoint, epi-info and stuff like that to run. Zbrush would also be nice, I was thinking maybe run windows on the mac for these tasks, what's your say? So, given this knowledge, which one should I get? and is this a good idea?

Whats Makes For a Source Code?

If I take a .doc, .pdf, .txt. and turn it into a .exe, does this mean it is now a SOFTWARE of my own creation? Also how can I make a .doc, .pdf, and txt, and esspecially a .exe into a source code so that it will be my own software creation? How do you get PDFs to display the same fonts everywhere?

I have Adobe Acrobat and I'm trying to convert a Word document into a PDF. It is set to embed fonts. The whole point of putting it into a PDF is so we can mail it around and it will look the same to everyone. However, when viewed on another computer (which presumably doesn't have our special font), it displays wrong. No error was displayed during the creation of the PDF. How do you convert a Word doc to a graphic file? the documents are generally only 1 or 2 pages, so that wouldn't be too demanding on my tme.

Using PHP to for dynamic pdf creation, template based?

Hey guys, I've seen quite a few options out there for creating pdf's on the fly with php. I'm just looking for some general insights on what is the best method to use. Basically I'm looking to take a pdf on my server as the template, modify it by adding some dynamic text, save the pdf as a new file and then be able to download the modified copy. This is in a shared server environment so I don't have total freedom to install mods so a more universal solution would be what I'm looking for. Thanks a lot everyone

Is the Bible Literal or Allegorical?

Before you answer, there IS allegorical language used in prophecy regarding kingdoms and future events. Copyright violation by copying books into CDs?

Hi, Recently my friend came across few listings in eBay which offers to sell few comics and books in PDF format in DVDs. My friend is a authorized distributor of these comics in printed format. As he found that this listing is illegal and violation of copyright, he sent a message to the eBay seller to remove these listings. For which he recived following response from the seller "According to best of my knowledge the copyright of the comics we have listed, have been weived out with the death of the authors. So the copy right act does not valid for these listings. As the authors of these comics died before 10 years, so this law does not applicable in this case. As an example we can sell any creation of Rabindra Tagore as the copyright was extended for 50 years and have been withdrawl by the Government." Is this true?. Is copyright cease to exist after the death of the author. What should be our response to this seller? I know I can report to eBay and remove this listing but we want to convince the seller that he is violating the copyright act

Question For An Experienced Web Developer Regarding FTP..?

I am rather novice when it comes to site creation. I created a basic info site that has 4 pdf's and one mp3 file on it. When a viewer clicks on the link for the mp3 it opens and just plays the audio over the main page, thus not allowing the visitor to both listen to the audio and continue to browse. That said -- What I would ideally like to do is set it up so that the viewer, when clicking on the mp3 link, are able to listen to the audio (on a 2nd page?) all while being able to maneuver our site. Would I use my hosts FTP to create a 2nd domain to host JUST the audio? And if so -- How do I set an audio link on Page #1 that would route the visitor to Page #2? Any help would be awesome, thanks!!!

What are the steps it takes to get a document from creation to print?

I need to know exactly what steps and the average amount of time it take to get a completed PDF file to become a printed document. This could be a book. I am wondering about the time to double check it and do test prints and everything in between. I am doing a professional print job. I am unsure of the colors. I really just need to write all the steps so I have a guide to follow. Choosing my color selection and paper would be a step along the way.

(Quran,2,164) On examination,what the Qur'an reveals in the above verse may seem perfectly normal events in many peoples' eyes.The alternation of night and day,ships floating instead of sinking,the rain's giving life to the soil, the movement of winds and clouds..Modern man thinks that all of these can be explained by science and with a mechanical logic,for which reason he thinks that they carry with them no element of surprise. However, science only considers naked material truths, but is never able to provide an answer to the question "Why?" It is from the condition of widespread ignorance created by the religionless social order dominating the world that people are prevented from considering these verses and understanding the different meanings which lie behind them. Essentially, and in fact, the Qur'an says that the nature of those verses can be perceived only by "people who reflect." For a "people who reflect", basically every part of nature is a sign, or in other words a key to the door to truth. Since nature can be split up into a nearly infinite number of parts, the number of doors and keys is also nearly infinite. But sometimes it is enough to open just one door to lead a person to the truth. Just one part extracted from nature, for example, a single plant or a single animal, can bring a truth-seeker closer to an understanding of the entire universe. For this reason, God states in the Qur'an that "God is not ashamed to make an example of a gnat or of an even smaller thing",because "as for those who believe, they know it is the truth from their Lord." (Quran,2,26) Such tiny creatures as the mosquito,and the spider,are mentioned in God's verses.In the same way as the gnat is considered unimportant by people,so is the spider:but"people who reflect"can see the miracle these verses convey. These tiny animals can each be seen as a key, and can open the door to seeing the perfection of God's creation. This book, which describes the surprising and incredible characteristics of the spider,known by so few people, and which will in describing them also ask "how?"and"why?" has been written with that end in mind.And for that reason alone this book is more significant than many books you may have read up until now.Because to become one of the"people who reflect"is more essential to man than anything else.
