pdf creator Question And Answer
How do you unprotect a protected Adobe PDF if you don't know the password?
Creator of the documents is no longer with the Company.
Answers
You could try this:
Open the original protected doc. Use the select feature and copy entire contents of the doc. Paste it into word, make your edits. Save the word doc as a pdf.
This assumes that the doc is essentially formatted like a word doc and that you have the adobe distiller software.
there is no other way.
There are programs that you can purchase; for example:
http://www.criticalfiles.com/free/locked-out-password/
These are usually expensive and don't always work.
You could try to scan a hard copy of the document with OCR Software. This will read the text and convert it into editable text on the computer as opposed to an image.
Also, as a last resort you could try to select all of the document and paste into a MS Word document then make the changes and format appropriately to your needs and liking.
Good Luck!
Hope this helps!
