My palm pilot can view PDF's and I use it for school. So, it would be so much easier if I could convert my files into PDF's and transfer them to my palm. If you know something, please leave me an answer.
I have WinRar and I already zipped the pdf files and some I can send one at a time but I have one extremely large file I need to send by e-mail. How do I do this? Please give me great details ASAP. Thank you.
I use Adobe Illustrator to create CMYK files that get printed - my printer preferes PDF file to print from - but I find if I create a PDF, using the correct high res job options, the colours always vary when the job is printed. However if I send the original Illustrator file to print, the colours are almost exact. Can anyone assist with this dilema?
I guess what Im asking is - why does converting a file to PDF, using job options that are not tampering with colour whatsoever, then produce a pdf with different colours? Which in turn print that way.
I need to scan 60 page documents (loose pages, all A4) on a colour scanner to produce colour pdf file. The pdf file needs to be under 4mb so therefore compressed heavily. Is there a scanner which will do this automatically without 3rd party software?
I've heard of programs that can change your written notes into pdf files (or similar) by either writing with a special pen on a special tablet or scanning them in and converting the writing to editable text. Can anyone help?

The PDF files are way too large for a gray scale text only page. The files average about 10mb per page. I already have the dpi set on 200. How do I have them scan in as a PDF at a reasonable file size?

i have several pdf files and wanted to print them out. but when i took it to the print house was told to make the files into one document for easy printing. so i wanted to know if there is a way that u can add a pdf file to another so u can get a so many pages but in one file or document opening like word.
This happens about half the time. I am able to download some pdf files from the Internet, and they are readable. But others just appear as a series of numbers, letters, and strange symbols. I can't tell which ones are going to be fine and which ones are going to be problems.

I have a few PS files that I want to save into one PDF document- do I need special software to do it? I know I can save a photoshop file as a PDF if I go to 'save as' and specify the file type, but that just saves it as a single PDF file. Can you add pages to a PDF document? I think Adobe Reader just opens the files, am I right?

I have a bunch of pdf files on my pc. Most, if not all, have links to some other page or website. Some of the files will not connect to the links provided. When I click on them I get the text window asking me if I want to block or allow. I click allow and nothing. Some of these pdf files are new. Just released. I did contact one of the authers, a well known internet marketer, about this problem in his ebook and he asked me to send him a copy of the ebook in question. Here's the situation:
- I can't open any PDF files on my university's lecture material site
- I've got three computers installed with the latest versions of acrobat reader and firefox but all three can not open the file
- The files could be opened three weeks ago on the same computers
- The files can now be opened on any other computer (e.g. library computers) except for mine
- No settings were changed on any of my three computers

I'm trying to save a one page file designed with Photoshop as a PDF file.
the file is 800*600 pxl.
When i tried to save the file, even it has no high quality, and even i saved it with the lowest quality, the one page file saved on about 500KB.
the common on the PDFs is that the multiple page files are like 500KB with 20 pages.
Is there is something i missing here? Is there is a right way to save the file on a small disk space?

I have ACROBAT READER installed on my laptop and i can open and view PDF files. People started sending me files with a TIF suffix and my Acrobat Reader is unable to open those files please advise where i should go to download the tif software online or if i have to buy any particular software. Hi, I'm working on my website right now (it's a yahoo site) and would like to sell the knitting and cross stitch patterns I design as downloadable pdf files too (besides selling them on CD). In two weeks I'll get a new computer and my daughter who bought it for me said that I can make pdf files. But what is necessary to make the pdf files downloadable? I am looking for software to organize my PDF files. I get my faxes in PDF and would love to tag them. There is a great program called "Yep" available free for mac which tags files. But need something with similar functionality for PC. Any suggestions?

I'm on a Mac, OSX. And for some reason all my PDF files are looking like plain documents (white page icon)... instead of the little Acrobat PDF icons (red and white) like they should be. I tried to reassign all the files using the "open with" option in Get Info, but that didn't help.
Do you know how to correct this?
Unfortunately, the answer below doesn't help at all! All that does is put a shortcut to the Program on the desktop. That does not correct the way every single PDF file on my computer looks (i.e., with a plain white document icon, instead of a PDF file icon).
Regarding the .PDF (.pdf) extension: all of the files I'm talking about HAVE a .pdf extension.
(example: filename.pdf)
But, they still have plain white icons!
Anyone else have any ideas???
Why are people willing to spend extra money to be able to make PDF files? What makes them so special? Somebody just gave me the software to create PDF files. What can I do with it? Why are they better than other kinds of files?

I don't undertsnad why, but I am unable to open any pdf files. I do a web search on a topic then try to open an entry that has a pdf file. I click on the entry and the screen says done, but then no pdf file is opened. What do I do? Is there software I need to download and from where?
I can open any site on Mozilla, except anything linking to a PDF file. I just get an error message saying "[file name] could not be opened because associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences."
I don't know what they mean. I can't find anything about preferences or PDF files anywhere. I'm assuming you do it from the part where it has "File, Edit, View, Go, etc" but I can't find it. I tried clicking Tools and then Options, but I don't see any option referring to PDF files.
It's kind of annoying having to go back to Internet Explorer just to see a PDF file, or having to save it to the computer and then open it was Adobe.

PS: It's not that Mozilla and PDFs just aren't comatible; my roommate has been using Mozilla for years and PDFs work fine on her computer. But she can't find that setting to fix it either.
I do have the most up-to-date Adobe and the most up-to-date Mozilla. I didn't know there was some kind of plugin, I thought it came with it automatically...
SmartSpider's site didn't help, and I tried to download the plugin from the Adobe site and it told me I already had it. I haven't had a chance to try and uninstall it completely, but I recently updated anyway, so if it was a problem with the program itself, it should have been fixed by now...
When i view the pdf files in Acrobat i get the pictures and pages whick look like the scanned images.. but when i scan images the file sizes are very big. How is it that a complete book fits under 2MB as a pdf file? whats the reason and how to create such files if i want to put together large qty of data together in a file? plz help!!
I have downloaded PrimoPDF in order to convert MW files into PDF files, and it has worked, but I've noticed that on some specific files, it seems it messes up. It goes all the way to the point of creating pages, then it says that the PDF converter couldn' t change that file.
Has anyone else had this problem? And what do you do to fix it?
