Your question is not clear whether you are having difficulty downloading huge Adobe Reader from adobe.com or downloading your documents so you want them to read directly on the internet! For the first one there is an alternative called http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php Foxit Reader which is only 2.1 Mb and you can read every pdf file while for your second question you can read pdf files in browser but its the same thing as downloading so only way to get rid of this is to use a better internet question.
