pdf reader Question And Answer
Is there another free pdf reader NOT created by adobe?
I am really, really getting sick of having to go into my task manager and manually end all the different processes everytime I view a pdf file!
And yes I have reinstalled adobe, I have reinstalled windows. I even OWN the full adobe suite as my husband uses it for work. I am really just sick of Adobe.
Everytime I view a pdf in via a website it opens two processes:
acrobat.exe
adoblem_cleanup.001
If I am lucking once I close down the browser the first one will go away. The other one never does, and each time I open a new pdf a different process is started and they eat memory like crazy. Also sometimes there is a third process but it isn't showing up right now.

foxit reader freeware or pro
Don't understand. When I just view a pdf, I click File, Exit. I remain online and no problem.
What are you doing that is giving you difficulty?
You can try Ghostscript - http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/

Foxit PDF reader works fine. The link to their site is below.

Yes there is, go to www.foxitsoftware.com and download a free PDF reader from there
adoblem_cleanup.001 is a tiny, tiny file and uses very little resources. With all due respect, don't be so anal on what processes are running. I'm sure there are half a dozen, at least, other processes running that don't need to. How about qttask.exe, mdm.exe, mobsync.exe, FlashUtil9b.exe, etc.
Seriously, it isn't hurting anything.
