pdf reader Question And Answer

Why does my pdf open only in Adobe Reader 8 and not in Adobe Professional?

I converted a Powerpoint file to pdf. Now I want to add links but when I try to open Professional, only Adobe Reader opens. I've tried other pdfs that I edited in Professional and they all default to Reader instead. What do I do?

Right click on the file you want to open in professional, move mouse over Open With, left click on Choose Program, then it should give you a list of programs for you to pick. Pick Professional and then put a check mark in the box if you want it to always open up with Pro and then click on ok. That should do it.
It looks as if your links to the Adobe Pro writer have been replaced by links pointing to the Reader only. Have you tried opening Pro manually (through explorer, for instance), and then trying to load them in the normal way? Alternatively, could be that your installation of Pro has gone south on you. Any chance of doing a reinstall? This can sometimes happen if there's rogue javascript code in a PDF you've accessed. It's a known bug in Acrobat 8 which Adobe are aware of. Hope This of Help Scots
