pdf writer Question And Answer
Adobe PDF writer enlarges the files?
Am used to convert my powerpoint presentations (PPT) to PDF using (dobe Acrobat Professional 6) I used to notice that it was also compressing the file to up to 20%! Now I am trying on a Powerpoint file but this time is it increasing the original size instead of reducing it! Can anyone advise about this.

Hello
Maybe your file contains a lot images. However, there is one possible way that might work with you:
1- use the print to PDF option not the convert Icon.
2- after you get the large size PDF make a Save As step it will reduce the size of the file.
NB: this way work most of the time but some time it make damages to the images in the file
Did you use more fonts than usual? If you are embedding the fonts, using multiple fonts will increase the file size. Also, in Powerpoint, if you have placed larger graphics into the show which you then sized down in the presentation - compress them before you save to PDF.
Are you saving with your PDF Reader compatibilty set to an older version of Acrobat Reader - like Version 5? Saving to newer compatibilty like 7.0 will reduce file size some.
One last thing. Did you change the compression on your PDF? Say from "smallest file size" to High Quality Print by mistake? That would certainly make for a much bigger size.
In other words, check your PDF export settings. ;-)
