Use PDFCreator (http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/). It's free and works great. I used to use Adobe Distiller. I now only use PDFCreator.
When you install it, you get a new "printer". Print to PDFCreator and it will create the .pdf file for you. Easy.
