pdf Question And Answer

How can you fill out the fields in a pdf form?

I've downloaded a form from Fannie Mae. It is in PDF form. Can it be converted to a functional form where the required fields can be filled out on my computer?

Its called a printer. Print the form. Fill it out. Mail it in. You would need to purchase Adobe Acrobat to make any changes to the form (if and only if you have the correct password to modify the document). PDF not intended for editing once the publisher is finished with it.
You should be already able to fill out the form as PDF. Some PDF forms will not allow you to save the information, but regardless you can populate the fields and print it out. There are conversion programs to convert pdf files to doc files. But if the pdf file is locked it will be very bothersome. Hope that helps!
there is a website that will convert pdf's to docs for you.. http://media-convert.com/
When a PDF form is created, you are normally given two choices. You can create a simple "picture" of the document or you can add "fields" to the document so that people can put information into them. If your form does not have fileds for input information, then there is nothing you can do to "fix". it That is the way they created it. Most PDF forms from the web are NOT going to be the kind you can fill out. There is no easy way for you to return the form once you have completed it. You would still have to print it out and mail it. As the process to add fields to a PDF document takes a while, they can save money by just having you do it off line on hte print out.
You'll need Adobe Acrobat Professional to edit PDFs. However, some documents are "locked" by its maker so that no editing can be done. In that case, you will need to print out the pages and hand write the required information. Good luck!
