pdf Question And Answer
How do you make a PDF that others can type into?
I have a form in PDF format that I would like others to be able to fill in when they open the PDF. How can I do this?
NOTE: I am asking this question for my coworker, a graphic designer. We have never had to make a typeable PDF before, but he does have advanced software and such. I just need to get directions of some sort to let him know. Thanks!

Make it as a form. Otherwise they'll need to buy Adobe Acrobat Professional to format a .pdf
For starters, you're going to need a program such as Adobe Acrobat Professional to be able to do advanced features such as this.
you'll need the full version of Acrobat to do it. Once you have that, you basically overlay text fields onto your form that allows users to type the info in. You can also control what type of text gets entered (ie: dates only, etc), how it's formatted, etc. If you have the full version, check out the help screens (F1) for details on how to do it. If all you have is the "reader" software, you're out of luck
