pdf Question And Answer
What's the best way to capture a piece of a pdf document to paste into a word doc?
Hi, I'm working on a class document, and I need to pull in a small amount (half a page or so) of a pdf document that has some images and tables. I just want to do some sort of capture as an image, and paste it into the word doc. What's the right/best way to do something like that?

If you don't have ADOBE ACROBAT (NOT Acrobat Reader) then this is a GREAT, fast program: http://www.tucows.com/preview/406709
It is free for 30 days and has a function to change PDF to word documents that works 99% of the time, though some fonts and graphics are very hard for it to do.
If, for some reason, making your PDF into a .DOC file still doesn't allow you to save and use the pictures, there is another trick you can do. Open up the newly created .DOC file with the picture, do a "SAVE AS", and save it as a Web Page. When it save it as an HTML file, it will also produce a folder with any associated pictures in it, and you can now use them for whatever you want!
Easy, no?
Good luck!
Do a screen capture. This means that you will be able to get an image version of everything that is being displayed on your monitor.
Press the "Print Screen" key of your keyboard. This key is usually placed after the "F12" key at the topmost row. What this key does is to take a 'picture' of your screen.
To view this 'picture', you will need to paste it in a document or any available photo editing softwares. Open the word document that you're working on, go to the menu "Edit" and select "Paste".
To simplify:
1. Press "Print Screen" key.
2. Open word document.
3. Go to menu "Edit" > "Paste"
If you require only a specific opened window for screen capture, press the "Alt" and "Print Screen" key simultaneously. Only the uppermost opened window will be captured. You will only see the difference if the window is not maximised.
If you're using Mac OS X, you will need to do the following.
For capturing the entire screen:
1. Press "Command", "Shift" and "3" keys simultaneously.
For capturing part of the screen:
1. Press "Command", "Shift" and "4" keys simultaneously.
2. The cursor will turn into crosshairs.
3. Click and drag the area which you want to capture.
4. The screenshots will be automatically saved to your desktop.
